Abstract
The therapeutic alliance (TA) is of great importance in recovery- and treatment outcomes in mental health care. Little research has been done with regard to improving the TA in severe mental ilness. The VOICE study aims to study how peer support workers, other mental health professionals and patients experience the TA, and which factors influence the TA in the context of FACT teams. Both qualitative (focusgroups and in-depth interviews) and quantitative (questionnaires) research methods will be used. The objective is that the acquired knowledge will become part of future treatment guidelines, in order to offer mental health care workers concrete tools for building and maintaining a good TA with their patients.
